A magnetic induction gauge measures galvanized coatings by sensing the zinc coating on steel and iron. The measurement tells how thick the protective coating is. This is done to ensure the prevention of rusting.  


 Color is measured using devices such as colorimeters, spectrophotometers, and spectroradiometers. Colorimeters are easier and good for simple color quality tests. Whereas spectrophotometers yield detailed spectral information. Hence, suitable for laboratories and industries.

The concentration of colored compounds in a solution is determined by the use of a colorimeter test. It can be used to measure the quality of the product. The colorimeter test determines the presence of contamination or observes chemical reactions by measuring the extent to which a solution absorbs light at a given wavelength.


Techniques of measuring color are visual color comparison, colorimetry (with colorimeters) and spectrophotometry (measuring spectral reflectance), and image analysis. Both techniques measure the reflection or absorption of light by materials and are commonly quantified. Therefore standardized in color spaces such as CIELAB or RGB.

Flickering lamps, color shifts, and uneven lighting are common faults, which can be corrected by changing the tubes, cleaning the interiors, and re calibrating the light system.

In a Pantone light box, the tubes last around 2000 to 3000 hours, after which the brightness and color should be assessed for replacement.

Assembling the light booth entails connecting the panels, fixing the light fixtures, fitting the tubes, and calibrating the lights according to our 3nh manufacturer’s instructional and safety guidelines.


D/8°and 45°/0°are two kinds of illumination geometry with different optical geometry design. D/8°illumination geometry is more widely used for the color comparison and measurement of high-gloss materials; 45°/0°illumination geometry is mainly used in printing and packaging industries. 

Ambient light may affect the test results and must therefore be kept to a low level for accurate haze meter results.
